PulpFest 2026 enters its second day, following a successful dealer set-up, early registration, early-bird shopping, and a full slate of programming. If you missed our first day, there’s still more to come at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry in Mars, Pennsylvania.
There is ample free parking surrounding the convention’s host hotel. It is very conveniently located at the intersection of three major roadways in Cranberry Township. The DoubleTree is just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate-79. The address is 910 Sheraton Drive, Mars, Pennsylvania. The dealers’ room will be open today from 9 am until 4:45 pm. Located in the Grand Ballroom of the DoubleTree, our dealers’ room will feature exhibitors selling and trading pulp magazines and related materials, digests, vintage paperbacks, contemporary genre fiction and pulp reprints, men’s adventure and true crime magazines, first-edition hardcovers, series books, dime novels, original art, Big Little Books, B-movies, serials and related paper collectibles, old-time-radio shows, and Golden and Silver Age as well as pulp-related comic books and games. That’s why PulpFest is known as the “pop culture center of the universe!”
For those who have not yet registered for PulpFest 2026, you can do so today from 9 am until 4:45 pm. To help things move smoothly, please bring along a completed registration form. You can download a copy by clicking here or through the link found on our registration page. Paper forms will also be available at the door.
A full weekend membership to PulpFest 2026 will cost $50 at the door for those who have not registered in advance. A daily membership for Friday only will be $25. Your PulpFest membership also includes membership in Doc Con 2026, FarmerCon XXI, and The Shadow Con 2026. That’s four conventions for one price! You’ll also receive a copy of our award-winning program book, The Pulpster.
Our daytime programming will begin at 12:30 pm with “The Universe According to Edgar Rice Burroughs,” a preview of what’s in store from the fertile minds at Edgar Rice Burroughs, Incorporated, located in Tarzana, California. Click the link above to learn more.
We’ll also have this year’s Flinch! Fest and FarmerCon presentation, part of this year’s salute to the life and work of Philip José Farmer. Both will take place during the afternoon in our programming area. The general public is welcome to attend all of our programming, free of charge.
Our 2026 art show also starts today at 11:30 am. Honoring the centennial of the birth of artist and illustrator Robert Kennedy Abbett, it will take place in the Chestnut Room, across from the hotel’s main elevator. The art exhibit will be hosted by Henry G Franke III, the editor of The Burroughs Bulletin and The Gridley Wave monthly newsletter.
Our daily auction preview will run from 3:30 – 4:45 PM. We’ll be selling over 200 lots of material from the George A. Rawling collection of hero and aviation pulps, plus collectibles consigned by members of the convention. The auction will take place on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 8 pm. PulpFest attendees will also be able to submit lots to the auction from 9 am until 4:45 pm. Member submitted lots will be added to the auction as they come in. Please see PulpFest auction coordinator Mike Chomko to learn more. Look for the auction banner near his dealer tables.
Our full evening programming slate will begin at 7 pm, starting with “Gil Cohen: Inside & Out,” part of our continuing saluting to the Men’s Adventure Magazines. These magazines were designed to appeal to the returning veterans of World War II, and later, the soldiers shipped off to fight in Korea and Vietnam.
A showing of Robert Wise’s 1963 classic, The Haunting, will close our Friday evening programming, beginning shortly after 11 pm. If you prefer socializing, join us in the Ember & Vine lounge at the DoubleTree for Fraternize at FarmerCon, organized by Meteor House and the fans of Philip José Farmer.

Our lead image was adapted by William Lampkin from Robert K. Abbett’s original cover art for Philip José Farmer’s Dare, published in 1965 by Ballantine Books. We’ll be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth at this year’s PulpFest, and honoring the life and work of the Grand Master of Science Fiction at FarmerCon XXI.
Released in 1963 by MGM, Robert Wise’s The Haunting was adapted by screenwriter Nelson Gidding from Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel, The Haunting of Hill House, considered one of the finest horror novels of the late 20th century. The film stars Claire Bloom, Julie Harris, Richard Johnson, and Russ Tamblyn.
Roger Soubie, a prolific French artist renowned for his extensive work in film and travel advertising, created the theatrical poster for The Haunting. Born on June 14, 1898 in France. He began his career by drawing magazine covers and advertising posters for railway companies, car manufacturers, and tourism. After the war he moved to Granville. Soubie has created nearly 2,000 film posters throughout his career, before he died in 1984.
