PulpFest

Read All About It!

With all the news that PulpFest 50 has to share, Jack Cullers and his volunteers have been manning the presses. With the ink barely dry, our latest newsletter will soon be winging your way via the United States Postal Service.

The PulpFest newsletter tells all about this year’s convention. You’ll find a programming preview, news about our guest of honor, hotel information, registration and auction details, and much more. A registration form for both dealers and regular members is also part of the newsletter.

If you have not received a copy of the PulpFest 50 newsletter by the end of May, please contact David J. Cullers at jack@pulpfest.com or at 1272 Cheatham Way, Bellbrook, OH 45305. Provide your mailing address and he’ll get one off to you.

If you can’t wait for the post office or want us to save the cost of a stamp or two, click our registration link at the top of our website and scroll down to the heading that reads “To Learn More.” There, you’ll find a link to our 2022 newsletter. Print yourself a copy!

Or, if you’re at the Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention in May, pick up a copy near their registration desk.

Although our newsletter contains plenty of great info, don’t forget about us here. Be sure to bookmark our homepage, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

Start making your plans to attend PulpFest 50 and join hundreds of genre fiction and art fans at the pop-culture center of the universe. We’ll see you August 4 – 7 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry, just nineteen miles north of Pittsburgh.

If you still need a hotel room, you can book one directly through the PulpFest website. Just click the “Book a Room” link at the top of our website or call 1-800-222-8733. Be sure to mention PulpFest in order to receive the convention rate. You must book your room before 12 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, to receive the discount.

The April/May 1932 number of Front Page Stories — with cover art by Elliott Dold — was the final issue of this short-lived pulp. Published by Harold B. Hersey through his Headquarters Publishing Corporation, two of its three cover paintings centered around the underworld. According to pulp historian John Locke, one of Hersey’s greatest career successes was the introduction of “the first pure gang pulp, Gangster Stories.”

Rest assured, our 2022 newsletter will have happier news than stories about mob hits and racketeering. Written by PulpFest’s marketing and programming director, Mike Chomko, and designed by advertising director, webmaster, and Pulpster editor, William Lampkin, the PulpFest newsletter contains all the pulp that’s fit to print!
