Learn all of the latest news and ideas coming from the fertile minds at Edgar Rice Burroughs, Incorporated at this year’s ERBFest.
Join Vice President of Publishing Christopher Paul Carey and Vice President of Operations Cathy Mann Wilbanks, live from the stage at PulpFest 2024 for the latest updates from Tarzana. Chris and Cathy are also planning for some special guests to join them in Barsoom . . . Mars, Pennsylvania.
From its headquarters in Tarzana, California, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., administers the intellectual property of American author Edgar Rice Burroughs, one of the twentieth century’s most prolific and enduring writers. Burroughs’ 80+ novels and 40+ short stories have been adapted into sixty films and 250 television episodes, and have been featured in comic books, video games, apparel, and other merchandise.
Please join PulpFest 2024 at 2:30 pm on Friday, August 2, as we welcome Cathy, Christopher, and their guests to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry in Mars, Pennsylvania for the latest updates on the Edgar Rice Burroughs Universe, the ERB Authorized Library, and other projects inspired by the great man’s work, including exciting updates about John Carter of Mars: The Audio Series, forthcoming from Pocket Universe Productions.
The ERB, Inc. team will also be exploring their current and upcoming book releases. These include the first three volumes in the original Barsoom saga by ERB, with cover art by Joe Jusko; the ERB Universe novels Korak at the Earth’s Core by Win Scott Eckert, A Princess of Mars: Shadow of the Assassins by Ann Tonsor Zeddies, The Land That Time Forgot: Fortress Primeval by Mike Wolfer, and Return of the Monster Men by Josh Reynolds; the ERB Universe anthology Victory Harben: Tales from the Void, edited by Christopher Paul Carey; and the Wild Adventures of Edgar Rice Burroughs novel Gauntlets of Mars: A Novel of Barsoom by Chris L Adams.
And, of course, Chris and Cathy will also address the centennial of The Land That Time Forgot and the 50th anniversary of the film version of Burroughs’ adventure classic. They’ll also have some great door prizes. But remember, you need to be in attendance at their presentation to win! Many thanks to Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. for their generous donation.
Our “The Universe According to Edgar Rice Burroughs” panel presentation is all part of ERBFest 2024, our third salute to the Master of Adventure, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Co-hosted by Henry G. Franke III — the editor of The Burroughs Bibliophiles, which publishes The Burroughs Bulletin journal and The Gridley Wave monthly newsletter — ERBFest was started in 2021 when it seemed as if a second summer was going to pass without both of the usual Burroughs conventions — The Burroughs Bibliophiles’ Dum-Dum and the Edgar Rice Burroughs Chain of Friendship.
In addition to our panel presentation by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., ERBFest 2024 will also feature presentations on “Pulp Paleontology” and “The Women of Edgar Rice Burroughs,” and late-night showings of Kevin Connor’s The Land That Time Forgot and The People That Time Forgot.
Of special note is the 2024 Dum-Dum Banquet, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Bravo! Italian Kitchen, located one-half mile from PulpFest’s host hotel. The banquet will be hosted by The Burroughs Bibliophiles and is independent of PulpFest 2024. You don’t have to be a member of The Bibliophiles to attend the banquet.
PulpFest 2024 begins on August 1 and runs through August 4 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry in Mars, Pennsylvania. We’ll be celebrating “Spice, Spies, Shaw, and More” at this year’s convention.

Douglas C. Klauba painted the dust jacket art for the forthcoming edition of Ann Tonsor Zeddies’ A Princess of Mars: Shadow of the Assassins, one of several books that will be discussed during our “The Universe According to Edgar Rice Burroughs” panel presentation. Our featured image is excerpted from a commission and portfolio piece depicting Dejah Thoris, A Princess of Mars, also painted by Mr. Klauba.
