PulpFest 50 is fast approaching. It will take place from Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7.
Rooms are getting very tight at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry in Mars, Pennsylvania. However, there’s still room at the inn.
The hotel has increased our block of rooms. Our “book a room” link is again showing the convention rate of $129 per night. If you have not done so, we recommend you make your reservation as soon as possible. With the convention near at hand, the hotel is filling up. Click the button on our homepage to book your room.
You can also reserve a room by calling 800.222.8733 or 724.776.6900. To receive the special convention rate of $129 plus tax per night, you must mention PulpFest.
Included in your room rate are two complimentary hot breakfasts per room during your stay. Also included are free Wi-Fi and free parking.
The DoubleTree has extended the deadline to book your room to Wednesday, July 20, in order to get the special convention deal. You must make your reservation by 11:59 PM on the 20th. Any bookings after the deadline will be made at the best available rate if rooms are available. Again, we recommend that you book your room as soon as possible.
Remember, by staying at the DoubleTree, you’ll save money on an advance registration for PulpFest 50 and get free early-bird shopping. You’ll also help the convention control its expenses and show our hotel that PulpFest will help their bottom line.
The convention is shaping up to be a big one with nearly 70 different vendors registered for our dealers’ room. We’ve had to establish a waitlist for interested vendors as we’ve run out of tables. If you would like to register as a dealer at this year’s PulpFest, please contact convention chairman Jack Cullers ASAP to be added to our waiting list. You can reach him at jassways@woh.rr.com or jack@pulpfest.com.
Our PulpFest 50 postcard, adapted by William Lampkin from Allen Anderson’s original cover art for Action Stories for Spring 1948, is pulling them in. Rooms are getting short at the DoubleTree. Too bad we don’t have the space found in the building on Frank R. Paul’s cover art for the program book of the 13th World SF Convention, held in 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio.
