Mr. Burroughs’ 80+ novels and 40+ short stories have been adapted into sixty films and 250 television episodes, and are featured in comic books, video games, apparel, and other merchandise.

Please join PulpFest 2021 and ERBFest on Friday, August 20, as we welcome Cathy and Christopher to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry in Mars, Pennsylvania for the latest updates on the Edgar Rice Burroughs Universe, the ERB Authorized Library, and other projects inspired by the great man’s work. Their talk is part of our fine line-up of Burroughs programming at this year’s PulpFest and ERBFest 2021.

Our other ERBFest presentations and panels at PulpFest 2021 include “The Amazing, Thrilling, and Fantastic Edgar Rice Burroughs” on Thursday, August 19, at 7:15 PM; “Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Unfinished Tales — Mars, Venus, Poloda, and Tarzan’s Africa” on Friday, August 20, at 3 PM; a very special panel planned for 3:35 PM on August 20, and “Introducing Pulp’s Legacy of Adventure to a Younger Generation” on Saturday, August 21 at 8:50 PM.  Topping things off is “A Barsoomian Bull Session,” hosted by Henry G. Franke III in the hotel’s lounge on Saturday, August 21, beginning at 11 PM. All these events are part of ERBFest 2021 at this year’s PulpFest in Mars, or shall we say . . . Barsoom, Pennsylvania. There is no extra cost to attend the ERBFest activities.

We hope you’ll join us from August 19 – 22 for “Love in the Shadows,” plus Bergey, Brundage, Burroughs, and more at the “B”eautiful DoubleTree! Cathy Mann Wilbanks is the Vice President of Operations for Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. Cathy joined ERB, Inc. in 1984 and served as the company’s Archivist, overseeing the company’s vast library of historical publications, artwork, and other artifacts owned by the company. In her current duties, she is responsible for all internal operations of the organization and helps with the firm’s marketing activities. We’d like to welcome Cathy to her first PulpFest and hope she’ll return for many more.

Christopher Paul Carey is the author of several books, including SWORDS AGAINST THE MOON MEN — an authorized sequel to Edgar Rice Burroughs’ THE MOON MAID — and the forthcoming ERB Universe novel VICTORY HARBEN: FIRES OF HALOS. He has also scripted comic books featuring Burroughs’ characters such as Tarzan, Dejah Thoris, and Carson of Venus. He is Director of Publishing for Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., and the creative director of the Edgar Rice Burroughs Universe series. Chris has also edited more than sixty collections, anthologies, and novels for a variety of publishers. He lives in southern California.

A genre illustrator based in Chicago, Chris works primarily in fantasy and science fiction. A traditionally trained digital painter, the artist has created vivid imagery for various gaming and book publications.
