Pulp Adventurecon returns to Florida on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The one-day event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Fort Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port, 180 SW 18th Avenue in Dania Beach, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5.
Bold Venture Press, run by Rich Harvey and Audrey Parente, has also hosted Pulp Adventurecon in New Jersey each November for nearly 20 years. Both shows host collectors, artists, authors, and vendors of rare pulp magazines, vintage paperbacks, golden age comic books, movie memorabilia, and related paper collectibles. Pulp Adventurecon emphasizes collectibles from 1900 to 1960. However, you will find collectibles created before and after that time period.
Currently scheduled to appear at May’s Florida con are:
- Bold Venture Press, Pulp Adventurecon hosts and renowned publishers of new pulp and classic pulp fiction, including ZORRO: THE COMPLETE PULP ADVENTURES and Mickey Spillane’s PRIMAL SPILLANE: EARLY STORIES 1941-1942.
- David Goudsward is the author of H. P. LOVECRAFT IN THE MERRIMACK VALLEY and sixteen other titles. In 2018 he coordinated the installation of a headstone for Amateur Journalism icon Charles W. “Tryout” Smith. His next book, ADVENTUROUS LIBERATION: H. P. LOVECRAFT IN FLORIDA, will be published later this year by Bold Venture Press.
- T. J. Morris is the author of THE CATHEDRAL, the first novel in a new science fiction series wherein The Church becomes the world’s governing force; THE COGSWORTH CONUNDRUM, a steampunk original published in 2021; and THE CLEANSERS, a dystopian series drawn from the author’s military experience.
- Roz Bellman was the right-hand of Allen Bellman, golden age illustrator for Lev Gleason Comics and Marvel Comics (when it was known as Timely Comics and Atlas Comics). Roz knows Allen’s tall tales of working with the legendary Stan Lee and others in the 1940s and 1950s. She has several stories of her own from traveling to comic conventions across the country.
- The Luscious Ladies South Florida Chapter are lovely retro models who appear at classic car shows and in magazines like BOMBSHELL, PINUPS & HOTRODS, PIN-UP KULTURE, and more. The Luscious Ladies cherish and live a retro lifestyle, and aspire to be a positive force within their community. They support small businesses within their rockabilly culture and volunteer their time for local charity organizations.
