PulpFest

The 2023 Pulp Adventurecon is Coming in November

With the next PulpFest almost 10 months away, what’s a pop culture fan to do? How about attending another convention?

Pulp Adventurecon is coming on Sunday, November 5. This one-day event will be held at the Holiday Inn in Swedesboro, New Jersey, conveniently located between Interstate 295 (exit 10) and the New Jersey Turnpike (Exit 2). The convention will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5.

Pulp AdventureCon hosts collectors, artists, authors, and vendors of rare pulp magazines, vintage paperbacks and comic books, movie memorabilia, and related paper collectibles. The show emphasizes collectibles from 1900 to 1970, the years encompassing a significant portion of the “pulp era.” However, you will find collectibles from before and after that time period.

The winner of PulpFest‘s 2021 Munsey AwardRich Harvey, and Audrey Parente — the publishers of Bold Venture Press — have put together Pulp AdventureCon for over 20 years. They’ll have over forty tables in one room for this year’s event.

Events like Pulp AdventureCon may keep you satisfied until the next PulpFest. So stay informed.

The 2023 Pulp Adventurecon poster was adapted by Rich Harvey from The Return of Zorro, Dell Four-Color #425, dated September 1952. The artist is not known. Our featured image was also adapted by Rich Harvey from George Rozen’s cover art for The Shadow Detective Monthly for July 1932.

William Lampkin adapted H. J. Ward’s original cover art for the August 1940 issue of Spicy Mystery Stories for our “Spice, Spies, and Shaw” webcard. Many thanks to Dan Zimmer for the scan of the painting.
