One of the highlights of PulpFest is the latest issue of THE PULPSTER. This pulp-packed publication is available annually to all PulpFest members. Our 30th issue will debut at PulpFest 2021, running August 19 – 22 in Mars, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh.
THE PULPSTER will reflect the themes of this year’s PulpFest. For our 2021 issue, we’re looking for articles on THE SHADOW and LOVE STORY MAGAZINE, the romance and hero pulps, artists Margaret Brundage and Earle Bergey, and just about any other topic covered by our programming schedule.
In addition to the PulpFest 2021 programming themes, THE PULPSTER celebrates all things pulp. So we’re open to proposals concerning other popular culture topics, including series and magazine histories; biographies and appreciations of authors, editors, publishers, and artists; pulp and book collecting; explorations of contemporary creators who have been influenced by the pulps or pulp fiction; and more.

A writer/editor and publication designer, Bill Lampkin runs ThePulp.Net — which he created in 1996 — and also writes the Yellowed Perils blog. A resident of Florida, he has designed THE PULPSTER, the PulpFest program book, since 2008 and served as its designer/editor since 2013. Bill currently serves as PulpFest’s director of advertising and manages the convention’s website. In 2018, he was honored with the Munsey Award.
