PulpFest is very well known for its auctions. This year, due to an abundance of material, the convention will host not one, but two auctions. The first will be held on Friday, July 27, beginning at 10:05 PM. Our second auction will take place on Saturday, July 28. It will also begin at 10:05 PM.
Our Saturday night auction will again feature material from the collections of the late Woody Hagadish and Larry Latham. There will also be signed letters and post cards from pulp artists and writers written to the late Albert Tonik.
The auction will also include nearly 400 copies of WESTERN STORY MAGAZINE, a selection of sports pulps and Martin Goodman’s Red Circle magazines, a collection of letters from Popular Publications founder Henry Steeger, a painting by paperback cover artist Rudy Nappi, long and nearly complete runs of science fiction digests such as ASTOUNDING SCIENCE FICTION, FANTASTIC, and IMAGINATIVE TALES, quantities of science fiction digests from the United Kingdom including NEBULA, NEW WORLDS SCIENCE FICTION, and SCIENCE FANTASY, and a selection of western pulps such as DIME WESTERN, WESTERN ACTION, REAL WESTERN, and 10 STORY WESTERN MAGAZINE.

Please note that we are still working on the Hagadish collection and may be adding more items — most likely, early science fiction paperbacks — to the list. Keep watching pulpcon.org for any revisions to our catalogs. If time allows, we also hope to post a few images featuring material from our 2018 auctions.
In addition to more than 300 estate lots, all members of PulpFest 2018 can submit items to sell at auction. All auction lots must have a $20 minimum value. If you plan to offer an auction lot with a reserve price, your reserve must be $50 or more. PulpFest reserves the right to reject any auction material that does not meet our standards. The convention charges sellers 10% of the selling price for anything sold at auction. All auction lots must be submitted to PulpFest prior to 1:30 PM on the day of the auction. If you have questions concerning the auction, please contact programming and marketing director Mike Chomko at mike@pulpfest.com or 2217 W. Fairview Street, Allentown, PA 18104-6542.
If you cannot attend PulpFest 2018 and are interested in submitting an absentee bid, please contact Mike Chomko at one of the addresses noted above.
PulpFest 2018 will take place from July 26 through July 29 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry — just north of Pennsylvania’s “Steel City.” You can register for the convention by clicking one of the Register buttons on our home page. And don’t forget to book a room at the DoubleTree. You have one more week to book at the convention’s special rate!
(Rudy Nappi’s recreation of his original paperback cover art for Bradford Scott’s BADLANDS BOSS — a Walt Slade adventure, originally published in 1956 by Pyramid Books — will be one of the lots offered at our Saturday Night Auction. The auction will begin at 10:05 PM on Saturday, July 28 in the programming room at PulpFest 2018.)
