Although PulpFest is well known for its excellent programming — and rightfully so . . . click the “2016 schedule” button just below our banner on our home page to see all of the great programming we have lined up for 2016 — it is also lauded for its very substantial dealers’ room. Beginning on Thursday, July 21, the Battelle South exhibition hall on the third floor of the Greater Columbus Convention Center will house collectible pulp magazines and digests, vintage paperbacks, first edition hardcovers and series books, original art, B-movies and serials, collectible comic books, and more. And remember: for those members staying at the Hyatt-Regency Columbus, you’ll be able to partake in free, early-bird shopping on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 PM. For those staying elsewhere, early-bird shopping privileges will cost $10 if you pay by July 1. After that date, early-bird privileges will be available for an additional $25 (if prepaid) or $30 (at the door).
In addition to Thursday’s early-bird hours, the PulpFest dealers’ room will be open from 10 AM to 4:45 PM on July 22 – 23 and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, July 24. Note that buying and selling opportunities on Sunday may be limited as dealers pack up for their trip home.

(This year’s PulpFest guest-of-honor Ted White ushered in the magazine’s Golden Age when he became the editor of AMAZING STORIES in 1968. White strove to attract good fiction, new writers, and some of science fiction’s most exciting artists to the magazine and its companion, FANTASTIC. Among these artists was Mike Hinge, whose covers — including the November 1971 issue — were bold, brash, experimental, and colorful.
Author, editor, musician, and science-fiction and pulp fan Ted White will speak to the convention on Saturday evening, July 23, beginning at 7:30 PM.
Over the past ten years, Sanctum Books’ format has not changed: two or three novels per book, the original covers and interior illustrations, and some sort of historical articles or materials are featured in each volume of the series. Pictured here is George Rozen’s cover art to the first volume of Sanctum’s series of Shadow reprints. The artwork originally appeared on the July 15, 1938 issue of THE SHADOW which featured the Lester Dent/Walter Gibson collaboration “The Golden Vulture.”
For the last twenty-five years, Howard Wright has been publishing the Doc Savage fan magazine THE BRONZE GAZETTE. He created his magazine when there was no real Internet and very little information readily available about Lester Dent’s “Man of Bronze.” Now, after seventy-five issues, Howard has turned the magazine over to Terry Allen, Kez Wilson, and Chuck Welch. Currently, they’re planning to use cover art by Bob Larkin on their first issue — number 76. The cover design and magazine logo is by Kez.)
