If you’re a fan of silent and early sound films or a collector of motion pictures and related items, then Cinevent 47 is for you. One of the associated conventions–along with FarmerCon–found on our home page, Cinevent is moving to a new location for 2015, just a few blocks from the Hyatt Regency, our host hotel. Cinevent 47 will take place May 22nd through May 25th at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel on 50 North 3rd Street. In addition to the usual Cinevent activities, this year’s convention will also be honoring the memory of Cinevent co-founder Steve Haynes, who passed away in April of this year.
In addition to over one-hundred tables of movie-related collectibles such as posters, lobby cards, presskits, DVDs, and 16 mm films, Cinevent features an extensive schedule of classic sound and silent films and one of the country’s largest live auctions of vintage posters. One recent announcement is the addition of a nearly-lost Thelma Todd movie, TAKE THE STAND, to the convention’s film program.
